Washington, D.C. – March 4, 2025

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has temporarily halted military aid to Ukraine, signaling a shift in approach as he pushes for a resolution to the ongoing conflict with Russia. The decision, reported by Bloomberg and Fox News, follows a tense exchange between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, highlighting growing friction between the two leaders.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Trump did not dismiss the possibility of an aid suspension but initially stated that no such decision had been made. However, a White House official later confirmed that military assistance was being reviewed to ensure it contributes to a peaceful outcome.
“The President is prioritizing a pathway to peace and expects our partners to align with that goal,” the official stated.
Trump also voiced dissatisfaction with Zelensky’s response to U.S. support, suggesting that the Ukrainian leader should be more appreciative of American assistance. He warned that he would not tolerate continued resistance to his calls for negotiations much longer.
This move marks a significant development in U.S. foreign policy, raising concerns about Ukraine’s ability to sustain its defense efforts without continued military backing from Washington.
